What a Retreat, it was Raw, Emotional and Transformational
The recent men’s retreat in the Cederberg mountains was, to be honest, far more than I could ever have expected.
I wish to say a big thank you to my co-facilitator Sicelo Mbatha, for the humaness and heart that you brought and shared, and to all the men, who dug deep into the belly of vulnerability and personal transformation.
The weather was hot, 37°C, the sky was blue, the venue stunningly perfect, the land hard but yet gently holding and the work deep and transformative.
Feeling blessed to have this group of men join us for the retreat, and they must have enjoyed it as they all want to do it again next year!

Don’t take it from me…
Here’s what some men had to say…

Paul is a master of creating safe spaces where men can share their lives and grow as individuals. The retreat was a deep dive into this space, and the outcome is a refreshed and revitalised man, but mostly a kindling of a spark that can’t be dimmed. Nowhere before have I felt such a strong reconnection to who I am, and I will always cherish the memory. Many laughs, good food, friendship , and a sense of connection was had by all.

The weekend was quite life changing, and as the universe would have it, could’ve have been better timed. My journey on the weekend was incredibly deep, raw, emotional and ushered in a new reality for me which I can’t imagine to have become aware of in any other way. Paul’s guidance and way of holding the space, the curation of the event and the tone was incredible. It took us along a journey with just enough information to have us commit but not enough to take away from the depth of the experience through overthinking. Sicelo added a depth that was equally as inspiring, and his humility and depth were humbling and inviting.
For me, at this specific stage of my life, there couldn’t have been a more perfectly “hard” experience – diving into myself throughout all the aspects of the journey in a space that was raw, real and natural – at the moment my biggest challenge is dialling back into the emotions and realisations and channelling energy into them to honour the work we did.
I can only recommend this process to anyone who is looking for ways to grow, heal and become more well rounded, in touch with themselves and improve their own interactions with the world around them. It sounds like a scary process, and while confronting oneself can be quite intimidating, the space was extremely safe, deep, honest, humble and enlightening.
